September 11th, 2001 was a date that will live in infamy. On that fateful day, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent people. The images of the burning Twin Towers and the heroic efforts of first responders will forever be seared into our collective memory.
In the days and weeks that followed, we came together as a nation to mourn the loss of life and to stand in solidarity against terrorism. We will never forget September 11th, and we will never give in to fear.
